Volzke

Gertrude was born on the family farm near Gresham, NE on June 15, 1918, to Louis and Pearl (Reitz) Neujahr. She was baptized on July 14, 1918, at Evangelical Lutheran Church and confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church on April 17, 1932, both at Gresham, NE. She graduated from Milford High School. On April 17, 1938, Gertrude was united in marriage to Harold Hackbart, near Pleasant Dale, NE at her parents home. They made their home on a farm south of Seward and moved to Seward in 1987. Gertrude passed away in her home on August 11, 2010, at the age of 92 years, 1 month and 27 days. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Gary Hackbart of Cortez, FL and Dean and Shirley Hackbart of Seward, NE; her daughter and son-in-law, Lana and Mark Eiting of Milford, NE; brother and his wife, Wendell and Irma Neujahr of Hutchinson, KS; brother-in-law, Erwin Hackbart of Seward, NE; grandchildren, Gary Hackbart Jr., Michael Hackbart, Greg (Anne) Hackbart, Jeff (Becky) Hackbart, Renee Eiting and Craig Eiting; great-grandchildren, Riley and Chloe Hackbart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; parents, Louis and Pearl Neujahr; sister-in-law, Edna Hackbart, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Norma and Clarence Keller.
