Volzke

Arnold was born on the family farm near Seward, NE on September 27, 1925, to William and Anna (Heidtbrink) Luebbe. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School (Middle Creek). Arnold is a veteran of the Korean War. On October 9, 1949, Arnold was united in marriage to Eleanor Schlichtemeier at St. John Lutheran Church in Crete, NE. Arnold and Eleanor farmed near Seward, NE until his death on August 29, 2010 in Milford, NE at the age of 84 years, 11 months and 2 days. Arnold was instrumental in soil stewardship and conservation, involved in livestock and farming, active at St. John and served on many boards in his lifetime. He was involved in special missions efforts in Russia, China and Africa. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; two sons and their wives, Dennis and Deborah Luebbe of Utica, NE and Allen and Lynn Soloway Luebbe of Seward, NE; two daughters and their husbands, Karen and Garry Ruether of Staplehurst, NE and Jane and David Heinicke of Seward, NE; brother, William Luebbe of Utica, NE; sisters, Wilhelmina Giesman of Pickrell, NE and Elsie and husband Lovelle Kracke of Dewitt, NE; brother-in-law, Ken and wife Maryann Schlichtemeier of Highlands Ranch, CO and Ron and wife Joy Schlichtemeier of Cupertino, CA: sisters-in-law, Irene Luebbe and Bernice Luebbe both of Seward, NE; grandchildren, Brandon McCarty, Ayla McCarty, Clint (Cassie) Ruether, Jason (Stephanie) Ruether, David Ruether, Ilsa Heinicke, Eric Heinicke, Carl Heinicke and Clara Heinicke; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Traegan, Samara and Kasten Ruether. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Martin and wife, Ila Luebbe, Herb Luebbe, Henry Luebbe and Laurence Luebbe; sister; Gertrude (Walter) Richert, sister-in-law, Frieda Luebbe; brother-in-law, Henry Giesman.
