Arthur was born on September 21, 1926 to Olivia (Schnoor) and William Eilers, on the family farm near Emerald, NE. Arthur attended school through the 8th grade. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army from January 3, 1951 to December 23, 1952. Arthur was united in marriage to Melba Jones on August 6, 1955 in Lincoln, NE. Arthur’s occupations included farming and driving a school bus for the Malcolm School District. Arthur was an avid volleyball fan, attending many University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Malcolm High School volleyball games. He was a member of the VFW Post #131. Art passed away at his home in Malcolm, NE on December 26, 2011, at the age of 85 years, 3 months and 5 days. Arthur is survived by a son and his wife, Bill and Kim Eilers of Gresham, NE; grandchildren , Destiny Eilers of Seward, NE, Dakota Eilers of Gresham, NE and Dustin Burke of York, NE; sister, Mary Eilers of Pleasant Dale, NE; and nephew, David Eilers of Firth, NE. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Melba; brother, Herbert Eilers.
