Obituary:

Charles Henry Radford was born on March 29, 1927 to Orville Charles and Clara Anne Wilhemina (Klepper) Radford in Ulysses, Nebraska. Charles attended school through the eighth grade. He served as a medic for the United States Army during WWII and was discharged in 1946. On December 14, 1946, Charles was united in marriage to Vera Maria Helena Woebbecke . He was a farmer in Seward County until they moved to Seward where he worked for Seward County Coop and Concordia Teachers College. Charles was a skilled stained glass artist. He loved gardening, especially roses with over a hundred varieties at their home in Seward. He enjoyed coffee with his special friends at McDonalds. He liked to go camping with his children, grandchildren and friends. He was a collector of “Red Toy” tractors and Budweiser beer steins. Charles passed away on April 30, 2019 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 92 years, 1 month and 1 day. He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Nordmeyer (fiancé, Bill Budler), Lincoln, Nebraska, Rose (Keith) Hentzen, Gretna, Nebraska; grandchildren, Jeremy (Marcia) Nordmeyer, Angela (Mike) Sluka, Marc (Melanie) Nordmeyer, Katie (Martin) Popp, Jay (Kate) Hentzen; granddaughter-in-law, Becky (Nordmeyer) McKelvey; great grandchildren, Calvin Nordmeyer, Robin Nordmeyer, Ashley Sluka, Briar Sluka, Brody Sluka, Samuel Sluka, Makayla Sluka, Toby Nordmeyer, Nova Nordmeyer, McKinly Nordmeyer, Madison McKelvey, Grant McKelvey, Carpenter Popp, Jeremiah Popp, Henry Popp, Luke Hentzen, Milo Hentzen; brothers, Weldon (Trudy) Radford, Leroy (Pam) Radford; sisters, Irene Houdersheldt, Verna (Glen) Neujahr, Evelyn (Bill) Reynolds; brothers-in-law, Marty Jacobs, Dale Anderson; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Jans, Marion Radford, Donna Radford, Wilma Ninneman, Ilene Woebbecke; many nieces and nephews; a host of other relatives, friends and special coffee friends.
