Loren was born on June 13, 1926 to Clair and Gladys (Linvill) McNeil. He passed away on January 22, 2016 in Grand Island, NE at the age of 89 years, 7 months and 9 days. Loren graduated from Utica High School in 1943. Loren served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1945 during WWII. On September 25, 1949, Loren was united in marriage to Ada Armagost at the United Methodist Church in Surprise, NE. Loren was a 70 year member of the Utica American Legion Post #49 where he served as past Post Commander, past District 12 Commander and past Area C Vice Commander, Utica Masonic Lodge #96, York Masonic Lodge #56, Order of the Eastern Star Utica Chapter #199, York Rite Bodies. He was a member of the Sesostris Shrine in Lincoln where he was a Road Runner, driving crippled children to St. Paul, MN to the Shriners Hospital. He was also a Lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. Loren is survived by his son Roger McNeil, Utica, NE; daughters, Debra Day, Utica, NE and Janell Gladson (fiancÚ, Steve Collins), Utica, NE; sister, Joan (Harold) Luebbe, Utica, NE; grandchildren, Crystal (Steve) Lankford, Utica, NE, Bridget (Kevin) Daehling, Red Cloud, NE, Andy (Cindy) Klepper, Wahoo, NE, Kimberly (Derek) Baloun, York, NE; great grandchildren, Kalvin, Clay and Morgan Lankford, K.J. and Lexi Daehling, Brayden Klepper, Dawson and Kaiylen Baloun; brother-in-law, Wilmer Wieman, Utica, NE; sisters-in-law, Doris Menze, Utica, NE, Mary Rose Armagost, Osceola, NE; many nieces and nephews; cousins and his special pet, Pepper. Loren was preceded in death by his wife, Ada McNeil; parents, Clair and Gladys McNeil; sister, Clarice Wieman; sons-in-law, John Day, Virgil Gladson; brothers-in-law, Emmett Menze and Robert Armagost.
