Obituary:

Norman H. “Bud” Wellmann was born on September 15, 1927 to Henry G. and Helena (Gloystein) Wellmann near Beaver Crossing, Nebraska. He was baptized on October 9, 1927 at St. John Lutheran Church in Cordova, Nebraska by Rev. William Peterson. He was later confirmed by Rev. Martin Juengel. Norman attended grade school at District 62 in Seward County. He enlisted in the United States Navy in January of 1946. He did his boot camp training at San Diego, California and served aboard the U.S.S. Jason A.R.H.-1 as an electrician. He was stationed in China, Japan and Guam before he was honorably discharged in December of 1947. On October 3, 1948, Norman was united in marriage to IvaLou Wiemer at St. John Lutheran Church in Waco, Nebraska by Pastor G.H. Koslowske. They were blessed with three sons, Gordon, Glenn and Gale. Norman and IvaLou farmed their entire married life which included twenty years of Grade “A” dairying. He retired in 1993 but was willing to drive a cab-tractor or truck anytime he was needed. He served on many boards at St. John Lutheran Church in Waco and held most offices at one time or another. Norman passed away on May 22, 2019 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 91 years, 8 months and 7 days. He is survived by his wife, IvaLou Wellmann, Waco, Nebraska; sons, Gordon Wellman, Waco, Nebraska, Gale (Judy) Wellmann, Waco, Nebraska; grandchildren, Shelley (Ryan) Scheele, Utica, Nebraska, Travis (Stephanie) Wellman, Williston, North Dakota, Bryon (Ashley) Wellman, Waco, Nebraska, Bradley Wellmann, York, Nebraska, Natalie (Tristan) Ibarra, Greenville, Texas, Tina (Jeremy) Hogue, Waco, Nebraska; great grandchildren, Dylan Scheele (fiancée, Mercedes Prochaska), Tiffany Scheele, Emma Hogue. Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Helena Wellmann; son, Glenn Wellmann; brothers, Paul Wellmann, Laurence Wellmann, Arlin Wellmann; sisters, Hilda Finke, Nora Erks.
