Deroyce G Volzke

Deroyce Deroyce G Volzke - Funeral Director
Deroyce is a graduate of Utica High School. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Concordia University in Seward. He then attended San Francisco College of Mortuary Science - San Francisco, California and graduated in 1966 with an Associate Degree in Mortuary Science. Deroyce was employed at a local funeral home until he opened Volzke Funeral Home as owner and operator in 1972. Deroyce and Leora were married in 1965 and have four chidren - Jill, Jeff, Joy, Jane and 12 grandchildren.
 
ORGANIZATIONS/MEMBERSHIPS
 
Deroyce is a member of St. John Lutheran Church. Served in the US Army and a member of the Utica American Legion Post #49. He is active in a variety of church and civic committees. He is the President of the Seward Cemetery Board, Past President of Seward Kiwanis, Seward Chamber of Commerce and Izaak Walton League. Deroyce has been a member of the Seward Volunteer Fire Department for twenty five years. He is a member of the Nebraska Funeral Directors Association, member of Mortician Emergency Plan, and is certified with the Lions Eye Bank of Nebraska as an Eye Bank Enucleator.

Jeff Volzke

Jeff Jeff Volzke - Funeral Director
Jeff graduated from Seward High School in 1987 and from Southeast Community College in 1989. He then attended the University of Nebraska- Lincoln and Concordia University Seward, Nebraska where he completed his State of Nebraska requirements. Jeff graduated from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 1993 Dallas, Texas. Jeff has held a Nebraska Funeral and Embalmers License since 1994. He is certified with the Lions Eye Bank of Nebraska as an Eye Bank Enucleator. Jeff is the son of Deroyce and Leora Volzke. He is the 2nd generation of funeral directors in his family.
 
Jeff and his wife Kirsten were married in 1993 and have three children - Makenna, Jaden and Olivia.
 
ORGANIZATIONS / MEMBERSHIPS
 
Jeff is a member of St. John Lutheran Church where he is active in church committees, Nebraska Funeral Directors Association, Seward Volunteer Fire Department, Seward Chamber of Commerce, Seward Country Club, a TEAMMATES mentor and a charter member of the Seward Youth and Community Club.

Chad Chad Schaefer - Preneed Consultant
Chad has been with Volzke Funeral Home since 2001 on a part time basis. He was born in Seward and is a 1992 graduate of Seward High School. He attended Hastings State College.
