Bryce Clausen Obituary

Bryce Lowell Clausen, of Utica, was born on November 16, 1939 to Hans and Retha (Miller) Clausen in Friend, Nebraska.  He graduated from Utica High School in 1958.  Bryce served in the United States Army from January 8, 1960 - December 20, 1962.  On June 6, 1964, Bryce was united in marriage to Karen vonFange at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Utica, Nebraska.  He was a truck driver for Richter Bros., Ricenbaw and Crete Carrier.  He was also an owner/operator for Dahlsten.  He received the 1,000,000-mile safe driver award while with Dahlsten.  Bryce ended his 38-year career as a grain hauler for Utica Coop using his own tractor/trailer, retiring in 2012.  Bryce enjoyed family vacations every summer and in his free time, he enjoyed listening to country music, watching old westerns, bird watching and being outside.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.  He was a member of Utica Jaycees, Utica Volunteer Fire Department and Utica V.F.W. Post #49.  Bryce passed away on December 29, 2021 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 82 years, 1 month and 13 days.  He is survived by his wife, Karen Clausen, Utica, Nebraska; son, Steve (Andrea) Clausen, Lincoln, Nebraska; daughter, Krista (Shadd) Rohrbough, Lincoln, Nebraska; brother, Neal (Donna) Clausen, Bloomington, Illinois; grandchildren, Kaleb Blakemore and Zach Clausen; great granddaughter, Roayn Clausen; sisters-in-law, Sylvia vonFange, Austin, Texas and Susan vonFange, Mt. Clemens, Michigan; brother-in-law, Howard (Rose) vonFange, Wichita, Kansas; nieces, nephews and cousins.  Bryce was preceded in death by his parents, Hans and Retha Clausen.
