Carol Sue Bender

Carol Sue Bender was born on September 22, 1961 to Duane and Betty (Luebbe) Bender in Seward, Nebraska.  She attended Crete High School, graduating in 1979.  Following high school Carol attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1986 with her degree in Business Administration.  She worked at Ameritas as an auditor of dental claims for 39 years. Carol was a charter member of Living Word Lutheran Church and was on the Parish ED Board, Mission Outreach Board, A Sunday School teacher & W.O.W. teacher. In her free time, she enjoyed genealogy, NASCAR, quilting and reading. Carol passed away on May 23, 2023 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 61.  She is survived by her parents, Duane and Betty Bender of Seward, Nebraska; siblings, Nancy Harms of Kearney, Nebraska, Sandra Bender of Omaha, Nebraska, Tommy (Cathy) Bender of Lincoln, Nebraska; nieces and nephews, Eric (Averie) Harms, John (Eva) Harms, Kirk Harms, Jessica Harms, Luke (Julia) Bender, Natalie Bender, Nicholas Bender; great nieces, Eden and Andie Harms. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
