Craig Kent Wefer was born July 28, 1950 to Arlin and Marge (Fischer) Wefer in York, NE. While not one person has yet to beat Alzheimer’s disease, Craig finally won the battle on October 25, 2024, peacefully, after combatting the disease for 4 years. He was 74.
Craig grew up in Utica, NE and graduated from Centennial Public School in 1968. He then attended Milford trade school. He spent most of his years after that working in Lincoln, NE as an exceptionally skilled carpenter. He later moved back to Utica, NE to be closer to family and remodel his parents’ homestead.
Craig enjoyed being outside in his shop building things and never wasted a single piece of scrap wood. He loved hunting with his brother-in-law and the boys from Texas every fall and winter. He loved to fish. He loved his 1970 Chevelle; winning numerous car shows with it. He enjoyed the company of his lifelong friends and family; never turning down a nice “cold one”.
Those left to remember the good times include his sister and brother-in-law, Leslie and Wayne Zima; nieces, Natalie (Gabe) Zima-Sas, Ashlie (Craig) Morgan, Haylie Zima, Megan (Brandon) Bolin; daughter, Roxanne Wohlford; great niece & nephews, Allyiah, Elijah, Daxxton, & Dylan; grandchildren, Isabelle and Tylan; and many special, lifelong friends.
Those reunited and celebrating up there with him include his parents, Arlin and Marge Wefer; brother, Bruce Wefer; and pup, Dancer.
