Dennis “Denny” "Pickles" D. Hartman, of Seward, was born on July 11, 1940 to Martin and Ida (Bredow) Hartman in Lincoln, Nebraska. He attended school at Seward High School, graduating in 1958. Denny was united in marriage to Mary Hargrove on June 24, 1961 at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward, Nebraska. Denny farmed his entire life, running Hartman Farms with his sons. He co-owned DenMar Equipment in Seward, Nebraska. He also sold York Chief Buildings and was a DeKalb seed corn dealer. Denny enjoyed his life on the farm which included daily golf cart tours and feeding the fish at the pond. He spent a lot of time with his friends at Sparetime for coffee and breakfast. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Seward. Denny passed away on May 26, 2021 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 15 days. He is survived by his wife, Mary Hartman, Seward, Nebraska; sons, Jay (Brenda) Hartman, Seward, Nebraska, Todd (Julie) Hartman, Seward, Nebraska, Justin (Cory) Hartman, Seward, Nebraska; grandchildren, Drew (Amber) Wieseman, Jared Hartman, Colton Hartman, Carley Hartman, Michael Hartman, Grant Hartman, Braden Hartman, Tarryn Hartman, Paxton Hartman; great grandchildren, Teagan, Kaysen and Tripp Wieseman; extended family and friends. Denny was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Ida Hartman; mother-in-law, Louise Cross.
