Dorothy Duffek Obituary

Dorothy was born on March 14, 1942 to Albert and Dora (Lange) Matthes in Malcolm, Nebraska. She graduated from Malcolm High School in 1960. On May 1, 1971, Dorothy was united in marriage to Richard L. Duffek at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Malcolm, Nebraska. Dorothy worked at ASCS office in Lincoln from 1960 to 1961, the Lancaster County Assessors and Treasurers offices from 1961 to 1971 and Duffek Custom Harvesting from 1971 to 2000. She also worked at Walmart in Seward for 12 years as a greeter. In her free time she enjoyed going to coffee, sending all kinds of greeting cards and visiting with her friends. She was a member of Seward United Methodist Church, a church volunteer and helped with serving food. Dorothy passed away on August 2, 2017 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 19 days. She is survived by her son, Dave Duffek, Seward, Nebraska; daughter, DeAnn Duffek (special friend, Troy Piper), Pleasant Dale, Nebraska; sisters, Elda Dietz, WaKeeney, Kansas, Carol (Darrell) Nieman, Lincoln, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Donna Matthes, Malcolm, Nebraska; nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Dora Matthes; husband, Richard L. Duffek; brother, Eldred (Bud) Matthes; nephew, Dean Matthes; brother-in-law, Vernon Dietz.Visitation Time(s)
