Dorothy L (Spahr) Schweitzer

Dorothy Leotta Schweitzer, of Seward, was born on January 13, 1922 to John and Katie (Frank) Spahr in Seward, Nebraska.  She graduated from high school in Goehner, Nebraska.  In September of 1946, Dorothy was united in marriage to Kenneth Schweitzer in Seward.  She farmed with her husband and was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family.  In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards, bingo and flower gardening.  She especially loved her cats.  She was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ in Goehner.  Dorothy passed away on August 9, 2022 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 100 years, 6 months and 27 days.  She is survived by her son, Gary Schweitzer of Seward, Nebraska; daughter, Carol (Charles) Nelson, of Springfield, Missouri; granddaughter, Patricia Milano of Hastings, Nebraska.  Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Katie Spahr; husband, Kenneth Schweitzer; brother and sister-in-law, Willard and Verna Mae Spahr; daughter-in-law, Nenita Schweitzer.
