Edward Lee Downs

Edward Lee Downs, 76, of Garland, was born September 10, 1949 in Independence, Missouri to Robert and Marie Downs. He passed away on January 12, 2026 in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Ed retired from Burlington Northern S.F. in 2009 after 37 years of service.

Ed enjoyed surfing the internet, going to auctions, watching football, taking care of his cats, and sometimes just a quiet day!

Survivors include his wife, Linda, his son Michael of York, daughter Crystal Tannahill also of York, and daughter Lucinda and Dale Buhr of North Port, Florida; 3 grandchildren, Cara Schrader of York, Dale Buhr Jr. of Beatrice and Jacqueline Buhr of Hudson, Florida; and his brother Bob Downs Jr. of Toledo, Oregon.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson Craig Ryan Schrader.
