Edward Dean Eret, age 62, of Utica, Nebraska, passed away on April 2, 2026, in Lincoln.
Ed was born October 18, 1963, in Crete, Nebraska, to Frank and Judy (Shay) Eret. He was a graduate of York High School.
A dedicated businessman and craftsman, Ed owned and operated Helmink Printing & Graphic Design in Seward, where he was a familiar face to many in the community. Outside of work, Ed found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with his dogs. He had a deep appreciation for music and enjoyed playing cards–particularly pitch. He also enjoyed scouting for treasures at local garage sales. Holidays were very important to him, especially Christmas, because he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his life partner, Chris Wittmuss of Utica; his sons, Jesse (Carissa) Eret of Bellevue and Dan (Jessica) Eret of Aurora, CO; his parents, Frank and Judy Eret of Seward; his sisters, Gwen (Brad) Harms, Gaynelle (Chad) Springer, Amy (Carolos) Zourdos, and Angie (Nate) Hoppe; his eight cherished grandchildren, Lucy, Amelie, Zoey, Penelope, Joshua, Ezra, Asher, and Samuel; many nieces and nephews; Chris’ children, Angie, Amy, and Kenney and their spouses, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
