Gary L. Jacobsen was born on January 4, 1949 to Melvin and Mary (Bye) Jacobsen in Seward, Nebraska. He attended Garland High School and graduated in 1967 from Lincoln High. Gary was the owner/operator of Jacobsen Rock and Gravel. On December 18, 2010, Gary was united in marriage to Debbie Krieser. In his free time, he enjoyed watching Gunsmoke, spending time with his family and his dogs, and traveling. He was able to travel to New Zealand, took an Alaskan cruise and American Cruise Line to Oregon. Gary passed away on January 7, 2026 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 77. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Jacobsen of Garland, Nebraska; children, Lisa Ward (John Dahl) of Palm Coast, Florida, Scott Jacobsen of Garland, Nebraska, Angelique Jacobsen of Garland, Nebraska, Christi (Joe) Arnold of Garland, Nebraska and Travis (Amanda) Keslar of Garland, Nebraska; grandchildren, Caleb (Kayley) Ward, Joshua (Gia) Ward, Jordan Jacobsen, Wyatt Arnold, Jasper Arnold, Judd Arnold, Chloe Keslar and Brinlee Keslar; great grandchildren, Atlas Ward and Hazel Ward; sister, Carol VanDerslice of Seward, Nebraska; and sister-in-law, Barbara Jacobsen of Lincoln, Nebraska. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Mary Jacobsen; wife, Jacquelyn Jacobsen; daughter, Charity Jacobsen; son-in-law, Brett Ward; sister, Barbara Meyer; brother, Robert Jacobsen and brother-in-law, Kenneth VanDerslice.
