Genevieve Joan (Boyce) Kusek, of Seward, was born on February 2, 1933 to Archie and Ruby (Chipps) Boyce in Valley County, Nebraska. She attended Country School District 3 and then graduated from Ord High School. After high school she earned her teaching degree from Kearney State College. On, October 20, 1953, Genevieve was united in marriage to Andrew B. Kusek at St. Mary Church in Elyria, Nebraska. They lived on a farm north of Elyria and later moved to Ord. Genevieve worked as a teacher in the early 1950’s and was a bookkeeper. She was a wife and mother who enjoyed taking care of her family. Following Andrew’s death, Genevieve moved to Seward, Nebraska in 2004. In her free time, she enjoyed quilting and reading. She was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. Genevieve passed away on October 25, 2021 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 88 years, 8 months and 23 days. She is survived by her children, Carla (Robert) Fiedler, Pleasant Dale, Nebraska, Joan Kusek (Jim Hildebrand), Palo Alto, California, Judy Harmer, Salt Lake City, Utah, Ann (Al) Underwood, Seward, Nebraska, Paul Kusek, Hickman, Nebraska, Marilyn Kusek (Ann Kochis), Florence, Massachusetts, Ellen (Keith) Novak, Pleasant Dale, Nebraska, Carl Kusek, Lincoln, Nebraska; 22 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Ruby Boyce; husband, Andrew Kusek; son, Thomas A. Kusek; sisters, Betty Kwiatkowski and Sharon Foth; son-in-law, Harold Harmer.
