Harlan Gahm Obituary

Harlan Romaine Gahm was born on January 22, 1935 to Howard and Pearl Gahm in Little Sioux, Iowa. He attended Little Sioux High School in Little Sioux, Iowa, graduating in 1953. He was in the U.S. Army 1955 - 1957 serving in Korea.  On September 14,1958 Harlan was united in marriage to Mary Lue Peasley in Onawa, Iowa.  He was the Quality Control Manager for the Nebraska Department of Roads until his retirement in 1997.  Harlan loved Nascar.  He previously competed in stock car racing, drag racing, and mud racing his "White Mule" pickup truck.   His favorite past time was tinkering on cars in his garage.  Some of his favorite memories were driving his convertible for 27 years in the Seward 4th of July parade.  He recently enjoyed riding his golf cart and motorized scooter around visiting with neighbors and friends.  He and Mary especially enjoyed the 12 years they spent in South Texas as winter snowbirds in their fifth wheel.  They also enjoyed their fifth wheel for many summers at the Woodland Campground in Little Sioux, IA.   Harlan passed away on March 21, 2026 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 91.  Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Lue Gahm of Garland, Nebraska; daughter, Luann (Neil) Anderson of Lincoln, Nebraska; son, Randal “Randy” Gahm of Garland, Nebraska; grandsons, Daniel (Jinilee) Anderson, Navare, Florida, Nathan Arnold, Burke Virginia; great granddaughter, Alexa Anderson; great grandson, Jayce Anderson; and special friends, Rick & Melody Schaefer.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Pearl Gahm, sister, Ramona Smith and grandson, Erik Anderson.
