Jacob Paul Gnan was born on October 16, 1999 to Kerri (Rolf) and Paul Gnan in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. He was baptized into Christ’s family on November 14, 1999, at Zion Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. He confirmed his faith at Immanuel Lutheran in Brookfield, Wisconsin. He graduated from Sheboygan Lutheran High School and also Grand Canyon University. After graduation, he moved to the Dallas Texas area where he most recently served as an Advancement Officer for Mission Advancement of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Jacob was a bright light of hope and encouragement to all those who knew him. He loved his family and His Lord. He enjoyed traveling, playing and watching sports, kayaking, hiking, and was always up for an adventure. Jacob lived his faith. He had a generous heart and was always willing to help others. We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayers, love, and support during this time. Jacob passed away on January 17, 2024 in Plano, Texas at the age of 24. He is survived by his parents, Paul and Kerri Gnan of Seward, Nebraska; grandparents, Bernadene Gnan of Chaska, Minnesota and Dennis and Marlene Rolf of Waconia, Minnesota; sisters, Katherine and Tim Priefer of Marshfield, Wisconsin and Emily Gnan of Castle Rock, Colorado; aunts, Carol Gnan, and Cathy Gnan; aunts and uncles, Pete and Michele, Kris and Mitch Rae, Kurt and Sarah Rolf,; cousins, Charlie Rolf, Ryan Rolf, Nicholas and Claire Gnan, Courtney and Pete Hahn and Chelsea Gnan (fiancé, Gino Domel).
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1
