Janice Goldsmith Obituary

Janice Marlene Goldsmith, of Seward, was born on November 2, 1945 to Wayne and Olga (Schwarting) Teggatz in Homestead, Iowa.  She attended Williamsburg Community High School graduating in 1963.  She then attended Concordia Teachers College earning her Master’s Degree in Education.  On June 17, 1967 Janice was united in marriage to Gordon Goldsmith at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Iowa County, Iowa.  She taught at Centennial Elementary Public School in Utica, Nebraska for 42 years.  In her free time, she enjoyed painting and gardening.  She especially loved spending time with her family and playing with her 8 grandchildren.  She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Seward.  Janice passed away on June 29, 2022 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 27 days.  She is survived by her husband, Gordon Goldsmith of Seward, Nebraska; son, Trent (Elizabeth) Goldsmith of Lincoln, Nebraska; daughter, Tarrah Mueri of Seward, Nebraska; grandchildren, Andrew Goldsmith, Caleb Goldsmith, Timothy Goldsmith, Seth Goldsmith, Luke Goldsmith, Joseph Goldsmith, Kaden Goldsmith and Amara Mueri; brother, Ralph Teggatz; sisters, Nancy VanDee and Kate Stockman.  Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Olga Teggatz and brother, Donald Teggatz and brother-in-law, Ronnie Van Dee.
