Joan Marie Naber, of Waco, was born on August 5, 1960 to Edwin and Lavonne (Woelber) Duer in Seward, Nebraska. She graduated from Seward High School in 1978. She then attended Bryan School of Nursing where she received her Nursing Degree. On November 28, 1981, Joan was united in marriage to Wayne Naber at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Staplehurst, Nebraska. She worked as an R.N. at York General Hospital. In her free time, she enjoyed watching Husker volleyball, gardening, growing flowers and volunteering. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities and church activities. In 2010 she received the honor of Ms. Wheelchair Nebraska. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Utica. Joan passed away on June 14, 2022, at her home in Waco, at the age of 61 years, 10 months and 9 days. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Naber of Waco, Nebraska; parents, Edwin and Lavonne Duer; son, Kyle (Heather) Naber of Waco, Nebraska; daughters, Aimee (Ryan) Eckstein of Elkhorn, Nebraska, Kelly (Jared) Dana of Utica, Nebraska; grandchildren, Addison, Jade, Nolan and Conner; sisters, Lori (Mike) Sheehan, Ruth Hatcher; brother, Paul (Ginelle) Duer; brothers-in-law, Clyde (Helen) Naber, Neil (Erma) Naber; numerous nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harlan and Mildred Naber; grandson, Aydan Naber.
