Kathleen Ann Tomandl was born august 29th, 1944 in Seward Nebraska and died January 13, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank Sr. and Dorothy Tomand. Sister Carol Carroll, and brothers Frank Tomandl, Jr. and Randal P. Tomandl. Kathy was one of seven children born to Frank and Dorothy Tomanl. She had 7 sibling, Frank Tomand, Tom Tomandl Collette Magwire, Randy Tomandl, Carol Carrroll, and Dorothy McIntyre and multiple nieces and nephews. Kathy was married to Chuck Wendell whom she met on a blind double date with her best friend Betty Lou Krings and they both ended up marrying their blind date. Kathleen had an illustrious career in art, printing and marketing starting at Morris Press while living in Kearney Nebraska. She went on to work at Honeywell in Kansas City in the marketing department. In 1998 she moved to Washington State where her daughter Tammy lived, where she worked for Port of Tacoma doing photography, marketing and artwork. While working at the Port of Tacoma her photographs where so amazing she was asked if her photos could be used in a display in Washington DC in an exhibition called “On the Water”. Her name is listed as photographer on 5 photos on permanent display in the Smithsonian in DC. In her free time, she loved helping others and became a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for foster children. She would make sure the foster children were being taken care of and placed in loving homes. She had much love to give. Kathy had just celebrated her 80th birthday with a trip to Paris with her daughter Tammy. She saw Monets garden in Giverny and that was a favorite of hers. She even got right up front to see Mona Lisa in the Louvre. Kathy loved all things gardening, art and music, her photographs will be cherished and adored. She was a beautiful soul and had kindness to give to everyone. Kathleen Tomandl was an amazing role model for many and her presence will never fade. She is VERY loved by many and will be missed, love you mom. * Thank you to her loved ones who traveled far to celebrate her life!
