Kenneth, born to Edward and Louise (Euhus) Timme on August 23, 1919 in Dodge County near Hooper, Nebraska. Baptized September 15, 1919. Confirmed May 20, 1934, Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, Hastings, Nebraska. Graduated in 1937 from Holdrege High School. Started his career with JC Penney Co. on March 1, 1939 in Wahoo, Nebraska. Enlisted in the U.S. Army on November 27, 1942. Active service two years plus, discharged November 2, 1945. Returned to JC Penney Co. immediately in Wahoo, Nebraska. Then, transferred to JC Penney Co. in Fairbury, Nebraska, April 1, 1946. Married to Erma I. Fox on April 17, 1949 in Daykin, Nebraska. Operated Timme’s Store for 26 years in Pleasant Dale, Nebraska. Appointed Postmaster in Pleasant Dale, Nebraska on August 13, 1965 and retired from the Postal Service on December 29, 1982. Member of the National League of Postmasters, served as State President 1968. Received Nebraska Postmaster of the Year Award in 1970. Kenneth and Erma moved to Lincoln in September 2001. Preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Louise; sisters, Joyce Timme and Kathryn Mundhenke; wife, Erma; son-in-law, Douglas Novak. Survived by son, Robert (Julie), Lincoln; daughter, Vickie Novak, Omaha. Grandchildren Craig Novak, Denver; Nicholas Timme (Elizabeth), Indianapolis; Audra Novak, Cape Girardeau, MO; Kelsey Timme, Ames, Iowa. Great-grandchildren Kate and Daniel Timme. Cousins, nieces and nephews.
