Kristine May Moulds entered her heavenly home on August 3, 2021, dying in Christian faith quietly at her temporal home in Seward, NE.
Kriss was born in Redwood City, CA on January 11, 1952, to parents Edith and Guy Baldwin. She grew up in the vineyards of Napa Valley where her father worked as an enologist for Christian Brothers Winery. She attended St. John Lutheran School, Napa. Her family moved to Los Gatos, CA in 1967 where she graduated from Los Gatos High School in 1969. Kriss earned a degree in elementary education at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA. After graduation, she returned to California and taught first grade at Santa Clara Valley Lutheran School.
Kriss and her husband, Russ Moulds, were married in 1973 and raised a family of three daughters, Sarah, Dorothy, and Katherine.
Kriss and Russ moved to Seward, NE, in 1975 to continue their educations at Concordia Teacher College, and then to Baltimore, MD. Kriss was an active parent at Immanuel Lutheran School where their children were enrolled.
The family moved back to Seward in 1988 where Kriss continued her support of Lutheran education as a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Seward. She was an award-winning author with the Lutheran Historical Institute, and she also wrote the centennial history book for Concordia Teachers College in Seward.
As an accomplished quilter, Kriss became a National Certified Teacher with the National Quilting Association, taught extensively, and assisted many novice quilters with their craft.
Kriss is survived by her husband and daughters, four grandchildren, her mother in Los Gatos, her brother, David Baldwin, Chanhassen, MN, and her brother, Andrew Baldwin, Gilroy, CA. With consideration for family and friends near and far in this time of pandemic, the family has arranged for a simple few hours of visiting, remembrance, and thanks in the sanctuary at St. John Lutheran Church, Seward. Kriss will also be remembered with others who have died in Christ’s care later this year in the All Saints Day worship at St. John Lutheran Church.
