L. Albertina Luebbe

Laura Albertina Mehuron Luebbe was born November 26, 1921, to George and Esther (Sundean) Mehuron in Lincoln and grew up in York. She passed away June 11, 2017 at the age of 95, surrounded by her family, in Seward, Nebraska. She graduated from York High, and then received her RN degree from Lincoln General School of Nursing in May, 1942. She married Alvin Luebbe December 25, 1942 and promptly left with him for his Glider Pilots' training. Four children were born to them, Janice, Duane, James, and Diane. She enjoyed many hobbies such as textile painting, tole painting, ceramics, china painting, sewing clothes for the family, tailoring, and French hand sewing. These culminated in painting and assembling porcelain dolls and sewing the doll fashions they wore. Tina was a member of Lincoln Doll Club, Blue Valley China Painters, Beaver Crossing Legion Auxiliary, Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Goehner and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Utica. Tina was a hard-working farmwife, mother and nurse. She cared for her invalid mother in their home for seven years, her father after he shattered his leg, and her husband after he broke his neck. She was a full partner in their farming, dairy and aerial spray businesses. She was a child of the depression and money was still short while starting their business. In her free time, often late at night, she made study tables and book cases for the children, pretty clothes for the girls, holiday decorations for the house, painted furniture, beautiful dolls, and china plates. Tina was preceded in death by her husband Alvin; son and daughter-in-law, Duane and Wanda (Barkmeier) Luebbe; grandson, Brian Luebbe; grandson-in-law, Jeff Ambroz; brother, George Mehuron and wife Mary; half-sister, Madelyn Fleming, and her parents. Survivors include children and spouses, Janice and Ed Sittler, Grand Island, James and Linda Naber Luebbe, Beaver Crossing, and Diane and Larry Gloystein, Lincoln; grandchildren and spouses Rebecca Sittler and Andrew Schrock, Regina Ambroz, Tom Luebbe and Lisa McHargue, Dawn Luebbe and Jeff Roberts, Ginger Gloystein, Ellie and Adam Janda, Karl Luebbe, and great-grandchildren, Nora Schrock, Dalton and Lexi Ambroz, Laura Luebbe, Emaline, Gwendalyn, Agatha, and Harrison Janda; sister-in-law Carol Luebbe, Redlands, CA; many beloved nieces and nephews.
