Larry Eugene Goebel

Larry Eugene Goebel was born on August 15, 1940 in Beatrice, NE. He moved to York, NE when he was six and lived at Mother Jewel's Home. Larry graduated from Lincoln, Northeast High School in June of 1959 while residing at White Hall Orphanage in Lincoln, NE. After High School, Larry attended Lincoln School of Commerce where he met the love of his life, LeeAnn Wolvin. They were united in marriage on November 2, 1962 in Lincoln. Larry worked as a professional driver for many years which gave his family the golden opportunity to live in many places in Nebraska. Later, he worked at Nash Finch until his retirement. Larry was the ultimate football fan with his favorite teams being The Northeast Rockets and the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers. Larry's devotion and loyalty to the Husker's Sports Program was unmatched. Larry passed away in Round Rock, TX on August 27, 2018 at the age of 78 years and 12 days. He is survived by his two daughters: Judi Goebel-Dewhurst (Mark) of Virginia Beach, VA and Kathy Goebel-Phebus (Andrew) of Round Rock, TX. Larry had four grandsons that were the pride of his life: Micah Dewhurst of Annapolis, MD, Taylor and Kevin Phebus of Austin, TX, and Kyle Dewhurst of Arlington, VA. Larry was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, LeeAnn Wolvin-Goebel; father David Goebel; and brothers Richard and James, Goebel.
