Lavilda Lorna Murray was born on October 27, 1939 to Otto and Esther (Knorr) Fehlhafer in Gresham, Nebraska. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith and confirmed at Gresham Immanuel Lutheran Church. She attended Utica High School graduating in 1957. Lavilda was married to Robert Murray on September 6, 1959 and to this union four children were born, Virginia, Lorna, Doug and Patty. Lavilda was a charter member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She was very active with Vacation Bible School where she was in charge of crafts. She was also a leader of the Milford Chapter of Campfire Girls for many years while her daughters were involved. In her free time, she enjoyed camping, fishing, sewing and growing plants and flowers. She also collected many varieties of bells that she enjoyed displaying in her home. She loved spending time with her family especially baking with her grandchildren. Lavilda passed away on January 8, 2024 in York, Nebraska at the age of 84. She is survived by her children, Virginia (David) Sims of Johnson Lake, Nebraska, Lorna (Mark) Frey of Milford, Nebraska, Doug (Joan) Murray of Fort Calhoun, Nebraska and Patty (Joe) Falcone of Fort Calhoun, Nebraska; grandchildren, Melissa Sims, Morgan (Matt) Simpson, Mackenzie (Kyle) Gubbels, Colby (Rebekah) Frey, Brandy (Phil) Rader, Ryne (Emily) Frey, Trey Frey, Sarah Murray, Austina Falcone and Vince Falcone; great grandchildren, Bo, Bronx, Bryder, Brand, Grant, Noah, Maverick, Brianna, Asher, Aleah and Autumn; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Lavilda was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Esther Fehlhafer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wilbur and Winnie Fehlhafer and Dale and Netty Fehlhafer.
