Lloyd C. Luebbe

Lloyd was born on June 9, 1921 to Henry and Sophia Mathilda (Baumbach) Luebbe in rural Pleasant Dale, Nebraska. He attended school through the eighth grade at Immanuel Lutheran School "Middle Creek" Seward, Nebraska and was confirmed in the Christian faith in 1935. Lloyd married Leona Matthes on January 2, 1942 at Immanuel Lutheran Church "Middle Creek", Seward, Nebraska. Leona passed away in 1991. Lloyd then married Irene Bushek on June 13, 1992 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Irene passed away in 1994. Lloyd then married Joyce (Pharr) Donohue, 11 days after they met, on October 8, 1994 in Baker City, Oregon. In 1949 Lloyd moved to Staplehurst, Nebraska where he farmed and worked in the used car business. In his free time, Lloyd enjoyed playing guitar, traveling and restoring/rebuilding cars. Lloyd was a member and music leader at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church. He was also a member of Kitones. Lloyd passed away on August 22, 2017 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 96 years, 2 months and 13 days. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Luebbe, Staplehurst, Nebraska; children, Patsy (Ronald) Bender, Lincoln, Nebraska, Sharon Marx, Scottsdale, Arizona, Lindell Luebbe (Jann Rublee), Pickrell, Nebraska, David Luebbe, Ontario, Oregon; grandchildren, Karen Liebmann, Suzanne (Bennett) Holzworth, Kevin Ramsay, Rachel (Jose) Morales-Zavala, Joseph Luebbe; step-grandchildren, Esmeralda (Tim) Castaneda-Martinez, Rebecca Hernandez, Vincente (Kendyl) Hernandez; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Mathilda Luebbe; wives, Leona Luebbe and Irene Luebbe; daughter, Joyce Lynn Luebbe; siblings, Adolph (Frieda) Luebbe, Helen (Albert) Gade, Henry Luebbe, Hulda (Bernhard) Ahlschwede, William J. (Anna) Luebbe, George (Irma) Luebbe, Theodore (Irene) Luebbe, Beata (Werner) Warnsholz, Clarence (Elsie) Luebbe, Lester (Esther) Luebbe, Elvadine Luebbe; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lester and Lola Matthes.
