Martha Virginia Mehl, 88, lately of Sun City West, AZ, passed away in Colorado Springs on February 3, 2021. Virginia, as she was best known, was born on Thanksgiving, November 24, 1932 at Seward Hospital to Herman and Gladys (Minchow) Miesner. She was baptized on Christmas Day 1932 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Seward, Nebraska and was also confirmed there. Virginia attended St. John's Lutheran School and graduated from Seward High School in 1951. She attended Concordia College where she met her husband, Norbert V. Mehl; they were married on May 27, 1956 also at St. John's Lutheran Church. Virginia was proceeded in death by her husband and parents, and is survived by her daughters, Karen Brack (Paul), Paola, Kansas, and Elizabeth King (Tim), Colorado Springs. She had three grandsons: Andrew Brack, Olathe, Kansas; Alexander Brack (Jeri), Osawatomie, Kansas; and Dillon Maxwell (Sarah), Ft. Collins, Colorado. She is also survived by her sister, Marilyn Carr (James) of Lincoln, Nebraska, and nieces Carrye Lersch (David) of Scottsdale, AZ, and Jennifer Livingston (William) of Omaha, and her nephew, Thomas Carr of San Francisco. Survivors also include her cousins Steve Wake, Darrel Minchow, Doris Lukow, Dean Minchow, Alan Minchow, Ron Minchow, and a host of dear friends. Private burial and graveside services will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Seward, NE at a future date. Memorials can be shared with St. John's Lutheran School, Seward, NE or Solaris Hospice in Colorado Springs.
