Maribelle Gierhan was born on October 9, 1933 to Floyd and Marie Lyle in York, Nebraska. The family moved to Polk Nebraska when she was five. She attended Polk High school and graduated in 1951. On September 14, 1958 Maribelle was united in marriage to her husband Darrell Gierhan at the First Baptist Church in Polk, Nebraska. In her early work life, she worked for the gas company and bank in York, Nebraska followed by several years at Houchen Bindery. For the majority of her life, she was a farm wife. She helped in all aspects of the farm including driving the combine during harvest and helping raise livestock. Maribelle had several interests such as sewing, quilting, cooking, baking, music, sports (especially Husker volleyball), gardening and working with flowers. Maribelle is preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Marie Lyle, and husband Darrell Gierhan. She is survived by her sister, LaVonne Young of Morgantown, West Virginia. Son, Scott (Latricia Miller) Gierhan of Utica, Nebraska. Daughter, Lisa Gierhan of Loveland, Colorado. Grandchildren, Cale (Nicole Reetz) Gierhan of Goehner, Nebraska. Lindsey Gierhan of York, Nebraska. Great Grandchildren, Anistyn and Bennett Gierhan of Goehner, Nebraska.
