Marilyn Lorene Rocker, of Seward, was born on December 16, 1929 to George C. and Hulda E. (Daehling) Meyer in Utica, Nebraska. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Utica, Nebraska. Marilyn attended St. Paul Lutheran grade school in Utica and graduated from Seward High School in 1948. On September 23, 1952, Marilyn was united in marriage to Dean Rocker at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Utica, Nebraska. From this union they had four children, Ron, Cindy, Gail and Dave. Marilyn was a homemaker and farmed with Dean west of Seward. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Lutheran Women’s League, GSE homemaker’s group and American Legion Women’s Auxilliary. She enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, cooking, her Bible study and GSE groups. She especially enjoyed square dancing and playing cards with friends. Marilyn and Dean celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in September of 2017. Marilyn passed away on April 11, 2021 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 91 years, 3 months and 25 days. She is survived by her children, Ron (Bonnie) Rocker, Lincoln, Nebraska, Cindy Rocker, Kearney, Nebraska, Gail (Pat) Lee, Littleton, Colorado, Dave (Connie) Rocker, Franklin, Nebraska; grandchildren Colin (Beth) Santi, Andrea (Scott) Wilson, Derrick Rocker, Jayme (Michael) Hilmes, Kelsey Rocker and Abby Lee; step-grandchildren, Kelly Peterson and Ashley Ulrich; great grandson, Grayson Hilmes; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dale and Sandi Rocker. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Rocker; parents, George and Hulda Meyer; parents-in-law, Edward and Lydia Rocker; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dale and Carol Herrold, Duane and MaryAnn Rocker; nephew, Steve Rocker.
