Mary A. Hartman

 Mary A. Hargrove was born on February 8, 1937 to Marvin and Louise (Cross) Hargrove in Prospect, Tennessee. She graduated from Seward High School. On June 24, 1961 Mary was united in marriage to Dennis Hartman in Seward, Nebraska. For many years, Mary was a hairdresser at Pauline’s and did the bookkeeping for Hartman Farms.  Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  She was a talented artist and an avid Husker fan. Mary faithfully attended numerous football and basketball games, even in the worst of weather, with her dear friend Ruthe Reiling.  She enjoyed painting and beautifully decorating her home for the holidays.  Her paintings adorned the walls capturing the very essence of her talents.  Stamping and doing crafts with her grandchildren and daughters-in-law were a favorite pastime of hers.  Mary loved living on the farm and spent hours making sure her lawn and flowers were always immaculate.  She enjoyed following her grandchildren in all of their activities and interests and never missed an opportunity to spend time with them.  Monthly coffee with her Coffee Clutch, and numerous lunches with friends were also a big part of Mary’s life, including an occasional margarita. Over the years, she tended to and took care of those she loved most.  Oftentimes putting other's needs before her own.  Mary passed away on December 24, 2024 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 87.  She is survived by her children, Jay (Brenda) Hartman, Todd (Julie) Hartman and Justin (Cory) Hartman all of Seward, Nebraska; grandchildren, Drew (Amber) Wieseman, Jared Hartman, Colton Hartman, Carley (Broc) LaVelle, Michael Hartman, Grant Hartman, Braden Hartman, Tarryn Hartman and Paxton Hartman; great grandchildren, Teagan Wieseman, Kaysen Wieseman and Tripp Wieseman; nieces, Debbie Flock and Stacy (Patrick) Jambe and nephew, Terry Brinkman. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Louise Hargrove; husband, Dennis Hartman; sisters, Margaret, Bertha and Ruth; In-laws, Martin and Ida Hartman and niece, Cori Bennett.
