Max L. Propst, of Seward, was born on October 21, 1929 to Charles and Edna (Kaltenborn) Propst in Waco, Nebraska. He attended Seward High School, graduating in 1947. He served in the United States Army from August 17, 1951 to July 30, 1953. Max married June Ann Rhoten on August 11, 1954. Following June’s passing, Max was united in marriage to Joan Keller on February 18, 1997 in Mesa, Arizona. He farmed his entire life and thoroughly enjoyed being a farmer. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, Big Band music, antique tractors and anything farm related. Max was a 4-H Leader of Lively Livestock and a member of Seward County Pork Producers. He also belonged to Seward V.F.W. Post #4755, Utica Legion Post #49, Tamora Volunteer Fire Department and SYA Tractor Club. Max passed away on February 2, 2022 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 92 years, 3 months and 12 days. He is survived by his wife, Joan Propst, Seward, Nebraska; children Jon (Twila) Propst, Seward, Nebraska, Kent (Becki) Propst, Bennet, Nebraska, Beth (Jon) Mierau, Loveland, Colorado, and Kevin (Jenny) Propst, Washington, Nebraska; stepchildren, Diane (Jerry) Remmenga, Lexington, Nebraska, Steve (Jeanna) Keller, Missouri Valley, Iowa; grandchildren, Ryan (Shely) Propst, Josie (Dave) Scholl, Katy (Nick) Novak, Charley (Amber) Propst, Brittini Propst and fiancé Brandon Bright, Maddison Propst, Jordan and Ethan Mierau; step-grandchildren, Katyra Remmenga and fiancé David Morgan, Lexie (Conner) Edstrom, Cole Remmenga, Kylie and A.J. Keller; great grandchildren, Talyn, Trinity and Jazmin Propst, Isabelle Weinrich, Max and Kale Nordmeyer, Vera and Everett Novak, Ryker Bright, and Broly Propst. Max was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Edna Propst; sister, Marian (Propst) Kreifels; and wife, June Propst.
