Michael Floyd Baack

Michael Floyd Baack of Utica was born on November 29, 1954 to Floyd “Shorty” and Elverna M. (Suhr) Baack in Seward, Nebraska.  He attended Centennial High School in Utica, Nebraska graduating in 1973. On July 27, 1973 Mike was united in marriage to Carol Stoll in Ulysses, Nebraska.  They recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. Mike was a farmer, cattle producer and truck driver. He worked hard to find time to spend with his friends and family.  He especially cherished time with his grandkids, they were the joy and delight of his life. He was best known for his contagious smile and ability to make people laugh. One of his favorite spots was a seat at the “wisdom table” for coffee each morning. Mike passed away on August 18, 2023 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 68.  He is survived by his wife, Carol Baack of Utica, Nebraska; children, Rachel (Will) Williams of Ainsworth, Nebraska, Daphne (Cory) Petersen of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, Michaela (Nate) Rasmussen of Malcolm, Nebraska, Nathan Baack (Danielle) of Utica, Nebraska; grandchildren, Jenna and Jensen Williams, Madeline, Rockwell and Neysha Petersen, Sophie Walker, Finley and Harper Rasmussen, Wyatt, Dakota and Gage Boyer; brother, Theodore (Sandy) Baack of Wayne, Nebraska; sisters, Beverly (Allen) Hain of Seward, Nebraska, Darla Wilson of McCook, Nebraska and Diane (Kenny) Struble of Seward, Nebraska.  Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Elverna Baack.
