Michael Ray Robotham, 49, of Malcolm, Nebraska, passed away on November 29, 2025, in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Michael was born on November 27, 1976, in Lincoln to Raymond and Cherylynn (Matthes) Robotham. He grew up outside of Malcolm, graduated from Malcolm High School in 1995, and went on to earn a degree in Electromechanical Technology from Southeast Community College in Milford. He later worked in the maintenance department at Zoetis.
The most important part of Mike’s life was spending time with his four sons, Ethan, Elliott, Cayden, and Carter. He never missed an opportunity to be involved in their activities and could often be found at their sporting events, both home and away. Mike helped coach his sons’ baseball teams and loved working with them on their pitching and batting skills. He and his boys also enjoyed attending Nebraska football games, College World Series games, and other Nebraska and professional sporting events. Though he rooted for the Minnesota Twins, he often said his favorite team would always be Malcolm.
In his free time, Mike enjoyed cooking, particularly grilling, and took great pride in preparing good meals for the people he loved. He was known for being easygoing and funny, with a dry sense of humor. Mike enjoyed living in the country, spending time outdoors, listening to music, and simply hanging out with friends. His calm presence and subtle wit made him someone others naturally gravitated toward. He also had a passion for sports, especially baseball, as well as an enthusiasm for guns and dirt bikes, hobbies he loved to share with those close to him.
Mike will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his generosity in sharing the things he loved, and the pride and joy he took in being a father. His legacy lives most deeply in his sons, whose lives he shaped with unwavering love, humor, and encouragement.
Michael is survived by his sons, Ethan, Elliott, Cayden, and Carter Robotham, all of Malcolm; his parents, Raymond and Cherylynn Robotham of Pleasant Dale; his sisters, Jennifer (Buzz) Hoffman of Pleasant Dale and Tracy Robotham of Brooklyn, New York; his grandmother, Donna Matthes of Malcolm; his nephew Jamison Hoffman of Pleasant Dale; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eldred (Bud) Matthes and Leonard and Phyllis Robotham; and his uncle, Dean Matthes.
