Michael John Truhlicka

Michael John Truhlicka was born on August 17, 1957 to Helen (Policky) and John Truhlicka in Seward, Nebraska.   Michael passed away on March 6, 2025 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 67. Michael was a man whose kindness, dependability,  contagious smile, and love for his family defined him. He spent his career as a welder at Kawasaki. He also worked manufacturing at Tenneco before retiring. Always taking pride in his work and lending a hand to anyone who needed it. No favor was ever too big, if you asked he was there. Whenever somebody talked about how he’d go out of his way to help, they’d say, “That’s just Mike”.   

Michaels greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted father to April Osborne and a loving grandfather to Owen and Noah, who were the lights of his life. He cherished every moment spent with them, making memories that will live on forever. He was also a beloved brother to his siblings. A true sports fan, Michael had a deep passion for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and was a dedicated Baltimore Ravens fan. He also loved fishing, his lucky spot was area five at Branched Oak. Though he is no longer with us, Michael’s love, laughter, and unwavering kindness will remain in the hearts of those who knew him. His legacy of generosity and devotion will never be forgotten. 

He is survived by his children, April (Brenden) Osborne of Lincoln, Nebraska; grandsons, Owen and Noah Osborne; sisters, Shirley (Gary) Cihal of Dwight, Nebraska and Connie (Charlie) Hull of Seward, Nebraska; brothers, Ronnie (Deb) Truhlicka of Bee, Nebraska; Gene Truhlicka of Seward, Nebraska and Stanley Truhlicka Riverside, California. Four step siblings Bob Poe Lincoln, Nebraska; Randy (Janelle) Poe Green Cove Springs, Florida; Roger (Christina) Poe Lincoln, Nebraska and Becky (Mike) Roberts Lincoln, Nebraska. Special friend Kim Dolezal of Waverly, Nebraska. Many nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his; father, John Truhlicka; brother, Bobby Truhlicka; stepsister, Rhonda Adamy; mother, Helen Poe and stepfather, Rodney Poe.

Michael’s wishes would be for everyone to dress comfortably and in husker gear if able.
