Nancy Wolfe Obituary

Nancy Florence Wolfe, age 77, of North Platte, NE passed away on September 9, 2025 at Great Plains Health.

She was born on April 12, 1948 in York, NE the daughter of John and Florence (Knorr) Fehlhafer.

She grew up in Utica, NE on her family’s farm. Nancy was baptized and confirmed in the Missouri Synod Lutheran faith.  She graduated from Utica High School in 1966. Nancy then began working in Lincoln, NE at Farmers Mutual. She met Gail Wolfe in Goehner, NE, and they were married on June 25, 1971 in Seward, NE at St. John’s Lutheran Church. They Lived in Seward for a few years before moving to Parks, NE where Gail worked for the Game and Parks. Afterwards, they moved to Maxwell, NE and lived there for 17 years before moving to North Platte, NE. There Nancy worked at Western Motors for several years, then McDonald State Bank, United NE Bank, Boy Scout Office, Apria Health Care, and finally Haz-Mat Response before retiring.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and baking. She loved making homemade gifts for the new babies. Holidays were her favorite and she always worked endlessly to make them special. She decorated for every season, most recently getting her room at Linden Court all decorated for fall.  Her church and faith were very important to her.  Nancy amazed everyone the last few years with her strength and resilience through so many medical and physical setbacks.  She fought until she just had no strength left, and then was peacefully lifted into the arms of her Lord and Savior where she always knew she would be.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years, Gail of North Platte, NE; daughter, Dawn (Manny) Caudillo of North Platte, NE; son, Adam (Lana) Wolfe of Texas; 3 grandchildren, Donaven Wolfe, Noah Wolfe and Sidney Wolfe; sisters, Janice (Larry) Moore of Ulysses, NE and Joyce (Allen) Sheehan of Seward, NE; and brother-in-law, Ron Tonniges of Lincoln, NE.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandchild; sister, Lola Tonniges; nephew, Rodney Tonniges and Ted Sheehan; parents-in-law, Harold and Viola Wolfe; brother-in-law, David Geddes; and sister-in-law Jacqueline Wolfe.
