Norma Ann Duer, of Seward, was born on September 17, 1935 to Gustav and Alvina (Blomenkamp) Gruenewald in Seward, Nebraska. She graduated from Seward High School. On May 25, 1954, Norma was united in marriage to Kenneth Duer at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward. Norma was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. She was actively involved in all aspects of the family life including the cattle, farming, and the Landenberger Duer Auction Co. and Duer Auction Co. businesses. For a time she also worked at Concordia Teachers College in the Business Administration Office, and she had a cleaning business with her dear friend Mary Lee Hain. In her free time, she enjoyed horses, gardening, attending her grandchildren's activities, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a volunteer for 4-H at the Seward County Fair Open Class and a member of Seward V.F.W. Post #4755 Women's Auxiliary. Norma passed away on June 10, 2022 in Milford, Nebraska at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 24 days. She is survived by her son, Scott Duer (fiancée, Rita Williamson) of Seward, Nebraska; grandson, Kolby Duer and granddaughter, Kaydy Duer, both of Erie, Pennsylvania; sister, Sandra Suhr of Seward, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Karen Gruenewald; nieces and nephews. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Gustav and Alvina Gruenewald; husband, Kenneth Duer; son, Clint Duer; brother, Alvin Gruenewald; nephews, Chris Gruenewald and Kevin Suhr; infant brother; brother-in-law, Ronald Suhr.
