Oreall Eugene “Gene” Soucie, of Seward, was born on November 3, 1936 to Oreall Vitale and Isabel Catherine (Sullivan) Soucie in Lincoln, Nebraska. He graduated from Sprague Martell High School in 1954. Gene served in the United States Marine Corps from September 10, 1956 to September 9, 1958. On May 5, 1962, Gene was united in marriage to Annamae Hajek in Crete, Nebraska. He worked in sheet metal and steel fabrication. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family and working on projects. Gene passed away on April 14, 2021 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 11 days. He is survived by his wife, Annamae Soucie, Seward, Nebraska; Patrick (Suzanne) Soucie, Denton, Nebraska, Annette (Randy) Reiss, Denton, Nebraska, Lisa (Craig) Slepicka, Seward, Nebraska, Paul (Natalie) Soucie, Roanoke, Virginia, Jennifer, Seward, Nebraska; grandchildren, Tara Miller, Joslyn Soucie, Patrick Aaron Soucie, Kaitlin Reiss, Thomas Reiss, Zachary Reiss, Max Slepicka, Wade Slepicka, Lydia Soucie, Evelyn Soucie, Olivia; great grandson, Wesley Miller; sister, Cathy Sullivan; brothers, Bill Soucie, Richard Soucie, Clement Soucie. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Oreall and Isabel Soucie; sister, Rita Spellman.
