Ralph W. Luethke

Ralph was born on August 12, 1934 to John W.H. and Anna M. (Henning) Luethke on the family farm west of Staplehurst, Nebraska. He was baptized on August 26, 1934 and confirmed March 21, 1948 at Zion Lutheran Church in Marysville, Nebraska. He attended Seward High School through the tenth grade. He enlisted in the Regular Army in 1957 and was stationed in Germany until 1959. He served in the Army reserves until 1965. While in the army he received his GED and completed two years of college equivalency. On September 13, 1964, Ralph was united in marriage to Elaine R. Luebbe-Schellhorn at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Staplehurst, Nebraska. Ralph was employed by Staplehurst Coop, House of Davisson and Lindner Painting. He was a farmer throughout his life. In his free time he enjoyed reading and taking his sons fishing. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, serving on many boards and as a Sunday School Teacher over the years. Ralph passed away on March 30, 2019 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 84 years 7 months and 18 days. He is survived by his wife, Elaine R. Luethke, Seward, Nebraska; sons, Gerald "Gerry" (Brenda) Schellhorn, Lincoln, Nebraska, Arlan (Dawn) Schellhorn, Seward, Nebraska, Myron (Deborah) Schellhorn, Lincoln, Curtis (Rebecca) Luethke, Seward, Nebraska, Douglas (Bonnie) Luethke, Milford, Nebraska; 16 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Ehlers, David City, Nebraska; aunt, Dorothea Fritz, Seward, Nebraska. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, John W.H. and Anna M. Luethke; brother, Edward Luethke.
