Robert L. “Bob” Brauer was born on February 4, 1942 to Adolf and Wilhelmina (Hillman) Brauer in Seward, Nebraska. He received Holy Baptism on February 22, 1942 at Immanuel Lutheran in Ruby, Nebraska. He was Confirmed into Faith on April 3, 1955 at St. John Lutheran in Seward, Nebraska. He attended Seward High School, graduating in 1959. On July 10, 1966, Bob was united in marriage to Fran Beins in York, Nebraska. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Dave, Cindy, and Kelly. Bob passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 83.
Bob was a farmer his entire life. After retiring from the farm, he enjoyed driving school bus for Seward Public Schools for 10 years and helped his son during harvest season. In his free time, he enjoyed Husker football and volleyball, Nascar, growing his toy tractor collection, and any activities his grandchildren were involved with. He also enjoyed traveling with his family and friends. He was very involved in his church, St. Paul Lutheran Church in Utica, Nebraska.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Fran (Beins) Brauer of Seward, Nebraska; children Dave (Brenda) Brauer of Seward, Nebraska, Cindy (Brian) Fehlhafer of Seward, Nebraska, and Kelly (Matt) Roberts of Lincoln, Nebraska. He was a proud grandparent of Emme and Tess Brauer, Matthew (LaTasha) Fehlhafer, Austin (Kate) Fehlhafer, Felicity (Slater) Wells, Brogan (Camryn) Fehlhafer, Max and Jack Roberts. Great-grandchildren Serenity, Cole, Weslie, Rylan, Layne, Hallie, and Maxine Fehlhafer. Brothers Ken (Nancy) Brauer of Lincoln, and Marvin (Sue) Brauer of Lincoln. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lloyd Brauer.
Bob’s body will be laid to rest in Greenwood cemetery to await the glorious day of the resurrection of all the dead.
