Roger Fred Duerr

Roger Fred Duerr went to meet his Lord on May 3, 2021 at his home in Lincoln, Nebraska, as he wished.  He was born October 29, 1939 in Seward, Nebraska to Fred and Lucile (Wright) Duerr.  He was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward.  Roger graduated from Seward High School in 1957 and then Concordia Teachers College in 1963.  He taught in New Jersey and Lincoln, Nebraska.  He worked with his mother in business before starting his own appliance business.  On June 29, 1963, Roger was united in marriage to Judith Boyd in Denver, Colorado.

He was in sports in high school and college.  He was a good golfer and an avid hunter.  He liked to travel and was an avid reader of everything, as his interests were many. 

He is survived by his wife, Judy Duerr, Lincoln, Nebraska; sons, Randy Duerr and Eric Duerr, both of Minneapolis, Minnesota; grandson, Derek Duerr, Minneapolis, Minnesota; daughter, Jennifer (Randall) Gilbert, Lincoln, Nebraska; granddaughters, Marisa Gilbert and Ilsa (James) Gilbert-Lowe, both of Lincoln, Nebraska; great grandson, Oliver Lowe; step-great grandchildren, Haylea, Ella and Zeek Lowe; sister, Sandra (Rudy) Nuttleman, Seward, Nebraska; special friend, Jan Lingren, Lincoln, Nebraska; caregivers, Orville Stuek, Jr. and Diane Jones, Lincoln, Nebraska; nephews, Doug (Julie) Nuttleman, Seward, Nebraska, Tim (Pam) Nuttleman, Seward, Nebraska; niece, Susan Pospisil (Scott) Schuld, Fremont, Nebraska; grand nephews, Cody, Travis, Riley and Jace Nuttleman all of Seward, Nebraska; grand nieces, Cassandra Nuttleman (Joe Cudaback), Fremont, Nebraska, Taylor Nuttleman and Kristen Johns, Seward, Nebraska, Shaylea (Lane) Brown, Milford, Nebraska, Faith Dill, Fremont, Nebraska; great great nephews and nieces, Rose, Dwight and Xander Nuttleman, Evangeline and Kane Brown.  Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lucile Duerr; grandparents, Andrew (Anna Tavis) Duerr and Leslie (Irene Flynn) Wright.
