On June 4, 1950 Shirley married Robert Schuknecht at St. John Lutheran Church. After their short honeymoon, they resided near Beaver Crossing on a farm. The farm was hit by a tornado and then they moved into Seward. To this union two children were born, Susan and Bruce. Shirley worked at Dales Steak House. After the children were raised, she purchased the Luncheonette from the Maylands which she and her mother, Ruby ran. Then she and her younger sister, Marlene, started Sugar Shack and ran it from 1983 to 1988. She retired in Lincoln where she enjoyed going on short trips with her sister, Elaine. Shirley passed away on April 6, 2025. She is survived by her children, Bruce Schuknecht and Susan Schuknecht both of Lincoln, Nebraska; sisters, Elaine Hubbard of Lincoln, Nebraska and Marlene (Earl) Graves of Pueblo, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Ruby Moyer; husband, Robert Schuknecht; brothers, Richard Moyer and Dale Moyer; and sister, Phyllis Klindworth.
