Stanley Owen Roebke was born on April 22, 1948 to Victor and Ella (Pohlmann) Roebke in Seward, NE. He was baptized May 16, 1948 and confirmed April 15, 1962 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Staplehurst, NE. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Seward, NE. He attended Seward High School graduating in 1966. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and served in the Army Reserves from 1968-74. On December 20, 1975 Stan was united in marriage to Jenny Mueller in Seward. Stan farmed in the Seward and Staplehurst areas for many years. Stan loved playing sports during high school and after. He played for Blue Valley Legion baseball team in Staplehurst, "Bone Crushers” basketball team, Stu's AgraSteel softball team and H&S bowling team. Along with Jenny, he was a youth group leader at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Staplehurst and served on the Staplehurst Volunteer Fire Department. Stan was a huge Concordia University Athletics fan. He followed all of Concordia’s athletic teams and was an especially devoted supporter of the women’s basketball team. Stan was fortunate to enjoy many lifelong friendships, including the Citizens Against Virtually Everything group (the “CAVE” men) who met regularly for morning coffee. Stan passed away on February 3, 2025 in Lincoln, NE at the age of 76. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Ella Roebke, his father and mother-in-law Wolter and Laura Mueller, sister and brother-in-law Judy and Dennis Niemann, sister-in-law Joan Lehmann, and “bonus” in-laws William and Wanda Gustafson. He is survived by his wife, Jenny Mueller-Roebke of Seward; children, Madeline Roebke of Omaha, NE; Patrick Roebke of New York, NY; grandchildren Owen and Eleanor of Omaha. Brother and sister-in-laws: Mike and Jill Mueller, Bristow VA Mark and Sue Gustafson, Napa, CA Rob and Kathleen Gustafson, Arlington, TX Carol Gustafson, Sacramento, CA Becky and Jon Spaet, New York, NY Andy Gustafson, Morro Bay, CA. Nieces and nephews.
