Steven Ray Brandenburg was called home to Jesus on June 12th, 2022 at the age of 66. Steven was born on January 26th, 1956 in Seward, NE to Lemuel and Evelyn Brandenburg. He was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Staplehurst. He graduated from Seward High School in 1975 where he enjoyed playing football and baseball in the summer. He then attended SCC graduating with a degree in welding and spent a majority of his career at Kawasaki and was even given the opportunity to travel to Japan for work.
Steven was united in Marriage to Melanie (Boldt) Brandenburg on July 6th, 1984 at St. Johns in Seward. They were blessed with one daughter, Malynn, on June 28th, 1993.
He loved all things outdoors. He would always reminisce on his countless adventures (or memories) of fishing, hunting, trapping, or anything that would allow him to be outside. Then as he became a husband and father, he enjoyed taking his wife and daughter out fishing and enjoying the great outdoors. One of his proudest accomplishments was being a father. He loved teaching his daughter how to play sports, fish, hunt and most importantly gun safety. He loved telling anyone who would listen how proud he was of his daughter.
Steven had his own personality and anyone who met him would agree with that. He would always reach out for a handshake or a hello if he saw you at church or at the store followed by some story you’d have to take with a grain of salt. You’d probably hear him say “how ‘bout them Yankees?” regardless of the time of year. He was very strong in his faith, and loved reading and reciting his Bible. With every conversation he would be sure to add, “God is in control” and that is exactly how he lived his life.
He was preceded in death by his father Lemuel Brandenburg, mother Evelyn (Neujahr) Brandenburg, and father-in-law Arnold Boldt. He is survived by his wife, Melanie, his daughter and son-in-law Malynn and Ryan Codr, one granddaughter due in July, his brother Rev. Terry Brandenburg (Rachel), sister Susan Zurek (Rev. Doug), mother-in-law Sharon Boldt, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jeff and Barb Boldt, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Tom and Glenda Chambers, and many nieces and nephews.
