Susan Lynette Gierhan was born on May 28, 1936 to Loran “Bud” and Helen Elizabeth (Howell) Rogers in York, Nebraska. She attended Utica High School graduating in 1954. Following high school, Lynette attended Nebraska Wesleyan receiving her degree in education. On June 1, 1957 Lynette was united in marriage to Wilmer Gierhan in Utica, Nebraska. Lynette was a kindergarten teacher at Waco and Gresham for a few years. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her Kids, Grandkids and Great Grandkids. She loved to read books to her Great Grandkids. She loved all things Husker and watched all the games on tv. In her earlier years, she was famous for her Crazy Cake with Fudge Frosting. She loved to scrapbook and made scrapbooks for her kids and all her grandkids. She enjoyed playing cards, and she always had a word search puzzlebook in her hand. Lynette passed away on August 19, 2025 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 89. She is survived by her children, Barry (Brenda) Gierhan, Utica, Nebraska, and Kevin (Renee) Gierhan, Utica, Nebraska; grandchildren, Karley (Luis) Castro, Trenton Gierhan, Bronson Gierhan, Braylon (Samantha) Gierhan, Kendall (Tori) Gierhan, Bryant Gierhan, Kyle Gierhan and fiancé (Lisa), McKenna (Garrett) Richters, Brooklyn (Caleb) Horne and Cooper Gierhan (Alayna); great grandchildren, Cohen Castro, Kallyn Castro, Berkley Gierhan, Brynleigh Gierhan, Grayson Gierhan, Hayes Gierhan, Charlie Gierhan, Jaelyn Gierhan and Baby boy Richters in October. Lynette was preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Helen Rogers; husband, Wilmer Gierhan; son, Tim Gierhan and daughter, Deborah Gierhan, sisters-in-law Rogene Kohtz, Frances Gierhan, brothers-in-law Marvin Gierhan, Eldon Gierhan, and nephew Jim Gierhan.
