Vivian Elaine Daehling Naber

Vivian was born on December 22, 1929 to Edward and Mabel (Westergreen) Heers in Utica, Nebraska. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Utica. She attended Utica High School and graduated in 1947. On July 18, 1950, Vivian was united in marriage to Darrell Daehling at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Utica. This union of 48 years was blessed with a son Russell and daughter Janette. Vivian and Darrell farmed for years near Staplehurst, Nebraska. In 1998 Darrell passed away. Vivian was united in marriage to Raymond Naber on September 28, 2001 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Staplehurst. Vivian worked as a teacher for six years in Seward County rural schools. She also worked for the Seward Chamber of Commerce for fifteen years along with other various secretarial jobs. Vivian served on the Seward County Extension Board and was a past president. In 1980 she led Staplehurst through the "Keep Nebraska Beautiful" and "Nebraska Community Improvement" programs. She was a member of the Ladies Community Club for 64 years. Vivian served as a Sunday school teacher, helped with Vacation Bible School and delivered tapes to shut-ins and those hospitalized for Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. She loved to help when and wherever she was needed. She had a fondness for animals, especially her dog Muffy and her cat Emma. Vivian passed away on November 28, 2018 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 88 years, 11 months and 6 days. She is survived by her son, Russell (Wendy) Daehling, Staplehurst, Nebraska; daughter, Janette (Larry) Ruether, Staplehurst, Nebraska; grandchildren, Rachel (Kevin) Siffring, Rising City, Nebraska, Kevin (Bridget) Daehling, Red Cloud, Nebraska, Chip (Sarah) Daehling, Elkhorn, Nebraska, Ryan (Amy) Ruether, Staplehurst, Nebraska, Renee (Jimmy) Soukup, Staplehurst, Nebraska, Rebecca (Shawn) Carr, Seward, Nebraska; great grandchildren, Aubree and Braxton Siffring, K.J. and Lexi Daehling, Caden and Maddox Daehling, Tyce, Tessa and Titan Soukup, Kinsley, Kora and Kamryn Carr; sister, Maxine Plisek, Utica, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Dale Mathis, Alpine, Texas; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Verdell and Sherry Daehling, Midland, Texas; many nieces and nephews. Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Daehling; husband, Raymond Naber; parents, Edward and Mabel Heers; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Howard Baack; brother-in-law, Edmund Plisek; sister-in-law, Birdella Mathis.
