William Mommens Obituary

William John Mommens was born on May 6, 1950 to Wilbur and Dorothy (Ourada) Mommens in Tecumseh, Nebraska. He attended Tecumseh High School and graduated in 1968. On June 14, 1970, Bill was united in marriage to Jeri Clark in Geneva, Nebraska. Bill served in the United States Marines from August 28, 1970 to August 25, 1972. He worked as a mechanic for Hydraulic Equipment Incorporated for 28 years, retiring in February 2004. In his free time he enjoyed historical aircraft, military history, classic cars, motorcycles and firearms. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the American Legion Post #33. Bill passed away on March 12, 2018 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 67 years, 10 months and 6 days. He is survived by his wife, Jeri Mommens, Seward, Nebraska; sons, Jason Mommens, Lincoln, Nebraska, Matthew (Carolyn) Mommens, Lees Summit, Missouri; daughter, Sara (Sean) Danford, Hampton, Virginia; brothers, Bob Mommens, Pawnee Rock, Kansas, Steve (Mary) Mommens, Tecumseh, Nebraska, Galen (Deb) Mommens, Spickard, Missouri; sister, Kathryn Mommens, Eagle, Nebraska; grandchildren, Kelsey Mommens, Daniel Mommens, Bradley Mommens, Kyleigh Danford, Liam Danford. William was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Dorothy Mommens.
