William “Bill” J. Peters, of Seward, was born on February 22, 1951 to Carl and Helen (Kelar) Peters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He attended West Allis Central High School, graduating in 1969. He attended college at UW Stevens Point and UW Milwaukee. On July 17, 1977, Bill was united in marriage to Pamela Meisinger in Norfolk, Nebraska. Following their marriage they lived in California for a short time before moving to Lincoln and then to the acreage east of Seward in 1990. Bill worked at the Lancaster Manor nursing home for nine years; worked in the Facilities Management Department at University of Nebraska in Lincoln until retiring in 2015. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, working on his acreage and traveling. Bill was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church from 1991-2020, during which time he served as a Stephen Minister, on the Board of Trustees and was a co-leader of the Alaska Mission Team. He was also a member of The Gideons International. Bill passed away on May 1, 2021 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 70 years, 2 months and 9 days. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Peters, Seward, Nebraska; brothers, Edward (Dianne) Peters, Thomas (Janella) Peters; sisters, Mary Norby, Judith Peters; sister-in-law, Sandra (Alan) Leimer; numerous nieces and nephews; cousins; and family and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Helen Peters; brother-in-law, Harold Norby, Jr.
