Obituary:

Dennis E. Niemann, 69, of Marshall, Michigan, formerly of Seward, Nebraska, died on Thursday, October 18, 2012, at his home.
Dennis was born on June 8, 1943, in Seward, Nebraska, to Erwin “Tuffy” and Florence (Gieselman) Niemann. He graduated from Seward High School in 1961. On November 30, 1963, he married Judith “Judy” A. Roebke in Staplehurst, Nebraska. She preceded him in death on August 1, 2012.
Dennis was a maintenance engineer for many years working for Tenneco Automotive in Seward, NE, and then moving to Marshall to start-up the new Marshall, MI facility. In 1990, he began working for Eagle Technologies in Jackson, MI, and he later would start up his own business D.E.Niemann Machine Services in Marshall, MI for several years. While he was living in Staplehurst, NE, he and Judy ran the Phillips 66 Station. He also served the community in Staplehurst, NE as a member of the Volunteer Fire Department and as a training instructor for emergency responders. Dennis enjoyed working on electrical projects and early on taught himself how to fix televisions and radios. Dennis enjoyed camping, fishing, watching NASCAR, and watching sports on TV. He especially enjoyed watching University of Nebraska and Michigan Football.
He is survived by his children, Michelle (Brian) Smurr, of Marshall, Michael (Kristi) Niemann of Columbus, Nebraska, Mark (Michelle) Niemann of Marshall, grandchildren, Bradley, Taylor, Zachary, Corey, Lauren, and Lucas Niemann. He is also survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Stanley (Jenny) Roebke, and niece and nephew Madeline and Patrick. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a son Matthew.
